What is a WebRing and what does it have to do with your blog?!
In the 90's Web Rings where a somewhat popular way for smaller sites to support each other. Linking to one another, in a ring, so if you started at one you could click to other similar websites until you ended back at the one you started at.
While this blog does not actually link to other people's websites, it is set up in theme to call back to a time when the Internet was a thriving community where people's thoughts and ideas flourished.
So this is like a 90's nostalgia thing?
No, well - its a fun theme to play with, but the intent is to remind myself and hopefully maybe others of the state of the internet before "apps" homogenized our web browsing experience and funneled nearly every interaction we have on the internet through a few corporately controlled services. The internet is still out there!
