me and Lauren are still on Maryland time, which is 3 hours ahead, so we were up around 5 AM. We took our time waking up and made our way down to get an early breakfast. We are planning on meeting Canyon and Jordan foe brunch later this morning, but since that will be about 2 PM our time we decided to grab something to eat to start the day.
We met up at La Grande Orange and it was a very cool spot. I got an iced Americano and avacado toast and we talked and caught up until Jordan had to leave for work
From there we headed the Desert Botanical Gardens. what a beautiful place! We walked amongst the cacti and discussed the amazingly diverse nature of the desert. It was a great time spent with my sister as we thought back on our experiences with Arizona nature.

These amazing cacti had this blue green hue that was amazing.
We visited their butterfly garden, it was an large area with lush plants enclosed by a mesh netting filled with tons of beautiful butterflies! It was magical!
Lauren was chosen by one of the butterflies! They had exhibitors to wrangle the butterflies so they did not get accidentally hurt by guests.
After the botanical gardens, me Lauren and Canyon took a visit to my childhood home in Phoenix. It was a somber visit, but also a good bonding time, and I was glad to share it with Lauren. There was a sense of healing and moving forward.
We visited the local Whatburger, a west coast chain we used to visit as a family when we were young. It had not changed at all! It was the exact same layout and color scheme! It was a perfect way to end our trip down memory lane!
From there, we said goodbye to Canyon, and headed off to Prescott. The drive was long and beautful through the mountains and countryside. It got very dark before we arrived.
We were unsure of the cabin, but upon arrival we realized that it was magnificent! It is gigantic with a huge front window wall. I could not be happier with this cabin we are staying in for the week!
