I woke this morning to an amazing view of a Prescott country sunrise through our cabins massive windows from our loft bedroom. What a beautiful morning view!
We got moving and had coffee and some of the special donuts Lauren got from Parlor Donuts in Phoenix.
Me and Lauren both report feeling particularly tired this morning. We have been running around since Friday to get here, and we are both still recovering from a cold, so I think the fact we can now relax in this cozy cabin has let our travel weariness catch up with us. Nevertheless, time to study some math. I have a virtual meeting with my Tutor today.
I have a great view to study from here on the loft.
I met with my tutor and it was very productive. I was able to tell her I got an A on my midterm, which felt very motivating!
Courthouse:
Me and Lauren have arrived at the courthouse in Prescott, which is the town square.
We have had a great time walking the many shops. So many of them remind me of childhood and there is a style that feels very 90s or early 2000's to me in a pleasant way.
Lauren has gotten many souvenirs already.
She also bought a pair of cowgirl boots! I think they looked pretty cool!
We went to the Palace Saloon on Whiskey Row. They have plaques on the wall of famous patrons to the saloon, including Doc Holiday, Wyatt Earp, and his brothers Morgan and Virgil. I do find it interesting and exciting to be in the presence of these historical landmarks.
The whole place was very on theme, the staff was dressed in period clothes. There was also an older man in full western period clothing as a law man sitting a table by himself. I still don't know if he was part of the saloon, or just a history fan. Either way, he looked pretty real sitting over there.
We both ordered the ribs and they brought out so much food. We got half racks and we still could not finish.
The food was great, and Lauren was pleased because she could watch the Ravens game which happened to be playing on the one TV in the bar. She thanked our waiter.
After dinner, we went back to the cabin. Lauren continued to watch her game while I went back to my school work. I was able to finish up right at bedtime, which was good because we were both very tired!
