Me and Lauren woke at 6 AM to get ready for our trip back home. We showered and headed back down to the hotel lobby for breakfast.
We loaded up the car and topped up the tank before returning it to the rental place. I already miss cozy Prescott and our cabin. We agreed that while we have taken many amazing trips together, this one felt particularly sad to end. But I guess I should be thankful for that.
Bag and security check in went super fast. I thank Lauren for her impeccable travel skills!
Once in Skyharbor, we moved to the Escape Lounge. The page said smart casual dress code, but everyone was wearing T-shirts and sweatpants, so luckily they didn't care that we were too. Also, I've been in much fancier lounges that had no dress code, so I guess it's to add an air of fancitude.
We are pretty early, so we are just resting and maybe looking for some snacks.
We have been hanging out in the lounge for a while now. I probably could have been using this time to study or work on the blog, but my vacation is ending and I'm still not a huge fan of flights, so I've been indulging myself by having a drink and day dreaming about Minecraft.
I have been thinking of adding a site in the Web Ring with my many meandering game ideas. It may be fun to give them a little home.
We have boarded the plane! We stowed our luggage in the upright compartment and took a seat with our belts fastened securely. The man behind me has a horrible cough. I kind of do too, but I'm just not currently doing it. He is also listening to headphones so loudly I can hear it quite clearly. Lauren was also annoyed. I guess first class doesn't apply to the customers.
We landed in Denver. The music man did turn his music off once we got airborne, though he turned it back on when we landed. I don't think he was using headphones at all, just jamming out on his phone speaker to early 2000s country. I saw him as we were getting off, an older middle aged yuppy looking guy. He was wincing and grabbing his head. I think he maybe had too many lorazeprams and white wine spritzers. Haha
At the Denver airport, we went to the Centurion lounge, which was very big and fancy. They had chicken schnitzel with a basil lemon broth you could drizzle on top. It was very tasty and NOT fancy chicken tendies. I helped myself to two plates of food.
After relaxing at the Centurion, we headed over to our gate for our flight home to Maryland.
We found a cozy corner by the windows while we wait. I'm looking forward to getting back.
We've now boarded the plane. I feel like these seats are a little extra roomy. And we are in the back row of first class, so we are a little extra secluded and no one is here playing their shitty music!
The flight has been nice and calm so far. I've been keeping busy writing notes to myself and playing Plants VS Zombies, my favorite zoning out on a long flight game. It is a dinner flight so we should be getting our food and drinks soon.
Dinner was tasty! I had a another bloody Mary and grilled chicken with potatoes.
We arrived at Dulles!
After a very tired drive back from Virginia, we've arrived back home!
Thats the end of this adventure to Arizona! It was a great time and I'm already looking forward to the next one!
